Rebecca Macieira-Kaufmann is a seasoned CEO with broad leadership experience in sales and marketing, risk management, and international business operations, formerly with Citigroup and its subsidiaries. She brings deep expertise in the financial services industry and digitizing the consumer experience. With a demonstrated track record of leading highly successful business turnarounds, scaling new businesses, and expanding operations globally, Macieira-Kaufmann also brings a strong background in governance through her corporate and non-profit board experiences.

She is the founding member of the RMK Group, LLC, an advisory and consulting service focused on fintech, identity management, regtech, and payment systems industries, which was formed in 2020. At The ExCo Group, she works with succession candidates, C-suite executives, and senior leaders.

Career History

In addition to her work at The ExCo Group, Ms. Macieira-Kaufmann currently serves on two Nasdaq Boards: MNTN (Everest Consolidator) and BCSA (Blockchain Acquisition Corporation I). She previously served as a non-executive director of Revolut USA, a global financial technology company, and Flutterwave, a Pan-African Payments Technology Company, and as Chair of the board of Banamex USA/Servicing Inc, a subsidiary of Citigroup. She also serves on the advisory board of DigitalDX Ventures, a majority women-owned venture capital impact fund focused on leveraging AI and big data to solve global health issues.

Rebecca also serves as an advisor to Notabene, a privacy-preserving compliance platform for digital currency companies, Banyan, a global infrastructure company for item-level receipt data, Kapitalwise Inc., a unified client acquisition and retention platform for financial institutions, Lucrisma, a FinTech company focused on aggregating financial data, and IDClear, a technology company preparing to launch.

In addition, Ms. Macieira-Kaufmann serves as Audit Chair of the San Francisco Symphony Board of Governors and as a director of the Jewish Senior Living Group. She is a frequently sought-after speaker on leadership, business transformation, culture change, and building high-performing teams. She has presented nationally to business schools and organizations and is the author of FitCEO: Be the Leader of Your Life.

Macieira-Kaufmann spent over 11 years at Citigroup across CEO, President, and Managing Director roles, most recently serving as Head of Citigroup’s International Personal Bank. She managed a full P&L line of business serving the offshore wealth needs of multi-national clients in over 100 countries. Before joining Citi, Macieira-Kaufmann spent 13 years at Wells Fargo, lastly as the Head of Small Business and the head of Wells Fargo Insurance Services.

Macieira-Kaufmann has been recognized for her leadership and accomplishments, including as an Influential Woman in the Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times for 12 years and as a Forever Influential Woman in 2014. She was named the 2010 Financial Woman of the Year by the Financial Women’s Association of San Francisco, awarded the 2007 Women Leading Change Award by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and honored with the Fulbright Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.

Personal

Macieira-Kaufmann received her Bachelor of Arts in Semiotics from Brown University. She was a post-graduate Fulbright Scholar at the University of Helsinki and received her MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
