Overview
One of the luxury industry’s foremost authorities, Marty Wikstrom has over 35 years’ experience leading and advising global brands. She dedicates her expertise to companies and non-profits across brand strategy, creative development, responsible technology advocacy, and the advancement of women in leadership. At The ExCo Group, Wikstrom works closely with C-suite executives and is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of female leaders.
Career History
Wikstrom currently serves as Chairman of Fortnum & Mason plc and as a Non-Executive Director of Johnstons of Elgin Ltd. She is also a founding partner of Atelier Fund, specializing in the acquisition and development of luxury brands.
Previously, Wikstrom served as the first female Non-Executive Director of Compagnie Financière Richemont SA, the world’s second-largest luxury conglomerate, later leading its Fashion and Accessories businesses as Chief Executive Officer. She was also Managing Director of Harrods Ltd.—the only woman to hold that role in the company’s 176-year history—and served on the boards of Harrods Holdings Ltd, Harrods Estates, and Kurt Geiger Ltd.
In addition, she served as Chair of Harry’s of London Ltd and as a Non-Executive Director of Bally International Ltd and Space.NK Ltd. She also served as a board member of the World Wide Web Foundation, Farrow & Ball, The Rug Company, Cath Kidston, Woolrich, Catch Fashion, and the International Women’s Forum Foundation.
Earlier in her career, Wikstrom spent 19 years at Nordstrom, Inc., rising from part-time sales assistant to President of the Full Line Stores Group, the company’s primary business unit.
Personal
Wikstrom is a member of the Advisory Board at Cambridge Judge Business School as well as a Fellow of the Wo+Men’s Leadership Centre. In 2017, she was inducted into the World Retail Congress Hall of Fame. The following year, she was selected as one of Retail Week’s ‘8 Women’ who have broken down barriers to pave the way for the next generation of female leaders. In 2019, Forbes named her as their Retailer of the Year, and in 2025, Wikstrom was presented with the Leading Light Award from the International Women’s Forum– a rare honor conveyed to those whose actions have shaped the organization globally. She currently resides in the United Kingdom.
