Overview
Lenny Comma is an accomplished public company CEO and Board Director. He brings more than 30 years of leadership experience orchestrating successful growth strategies with a strong record of building teams and senior leaders. As a board member, executive, and ExCo Group Mentor, Comma has been involved in multiple successful executive transitions.
Career History
In addition to his work at The ExCo Group, Comma serves as an independent Director for Burger BossCo Holdings, Inc., the holding company for Checkers and Rally’s operating companies. Comma is also a member of the board of the Wills Group, a family-owned company of convenience stores, car washes, and gas stations. Previously, he served on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters and The Jack in the Box Foundation.
Comma served as the Chairman and CEO of Jack in the Box Inc. from 2014 to 2020. Under his leadership, he developed and executed strategic and financial plans, evolved the business model to meet target market and investor expectations, and transformed the organizational structure, talent base, processes, reward systems, and culture to align with the brand’s strategy. He successfully led the Jack in the Box Board of Directors to make decisions regarding strategy, succession planning, governance, risk management, continuing education, and performance.
Previously, Comma was President and Chief Operating Officer of Jack in the Box. In this role, he was responsible for the operations of all company and franchised Jack in the Box locations, as well as for Menu Innovation, Marketing Communications, Consumer Intelligence & Analytics, and Internal Brand Communications.
Comma began his career at Mobil, where he held roles of increasing responsibility. After the ExxonMobil merger, he held the position of Regional Manager, leading a team that supported 300+ franchisees across Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona.
Personal
Comma received his Bachelor’s degree in finance from Drexel University and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. He resides in California with his three sons.
