Overview
Dr. Anastassia Lauterbach is a seasoned global senior executive, entrepreneur, and board director. A global strategist and ICT industry thought leader, she brings a deep understanding of the high-tech ecosystem and has successfully structured mutually beneficial partnership agreements with global tech companies. Lauterbach is also an experienced board member who has been involved with CEO succession and legacy turnaround. She is fluent in six languages (English, French, German, Russian, Serbian, Croatian). She mentors senior leaders and CEO succession candidates.
Career History
Lauterbach is a member of the Advisory Council of UN Taskforce for Mental Health and Wellbeing, as well as the Israeli Association of Ethics of Artificial Intelligence. She is fellows of the Salzburg Global, an international think-tank. Formerly, she was Non-Executive Director of easyJet PLC, Dun & Bradstreet, and served as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Censhare AG. As Chair of Risk and Compliance at Wirecard AG, she triggered a compliance study that ultimately led to the hiring of KPMG as an extraordinary auditor discovery of the fraud. She previously served as an Evolution Equity, TechCity Berlin, Intel, Nasdaq, FrightOne, Aircision, and Star Alliance advisory board member.
Previously, Lauterbach served as Senior Vice President of Europe Qualcomm, in which she had regional CEO oversight of business development, go-to-market functions, and a P&L responsibility of 4.7 billion Euros, leading expansion into Eastern European markets and Turkey. Previously, she served as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Acting Chief Product and Innovation Officer at Deutsche Telekom, during which she spearheaded key divestitures and product rationalization and restructured the captive VC portfolio, initiating deals with major VC firms in Silicon Valley and introducing third-party products for commercial traction. At T-Mobile International, a holding company for Deutsche Telekom AG’s mobile communications outside of Germany, she started as EVP of Strategy.
Lauterbach is currently the CEO and Founder of AI Edutainment, an AI Literacy company. She created the Romy&Roby AI Literacy series, and the AI Snacks podcast currently attracting 35 tsd people of all walks of life. She is a founding member of the Women Corporate Directors (Chapters in Germany and Austria), the National Association of Corporate Directors, and Savvitas. She is an expert speaker on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, innovation, governance, crisis management, geopolitics, and resilience. She is also the leading author of The Artificial Intelligence Imperative: A Roadmap for Business (Praeger 2018) and contributor to The Law of Artificial Intelligence and Smart Machines (American Bar Association 2019), Cognitive Computing (Apple Executive Series, Publication in 4Q 2020), China Outlook in 21st Century” (Sprenger, 2019 and 2022), “AI in Medicine” (Sprenger, 2023) as well as co-author of other publications, specifically on insurance. Lauterbach serves as a Technology Columnist for Handelsblatt and Wirtschaftswoche and is also a Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Innsbruck, and Berlin.
In November 2024, Lauterbach was inducted into Hall of Fame for Buisiness Excellence by the Business Excellence Institute, Dublin.
Personal
Lauterbach lives in Basel, Switzerland, with her family. She enjoys the arts and music and is a talented pianist. As an Ambassador of the city of Salzburg, and of Savvitas, she contributes to the international networking of executives for international understanding and sustainable development in the fields of corporate governance, technology, law, education, and culture.
