Career History

Prior to joining The ExCo Group, Nicholas was the worldwide CEO of KPMG’s Global Strategy Group for five years. Coming into the role the goal was to combine the strategy practices of 30+ countries into a single, global platform. Establishing an international leadership team and transformation unit, he led the creation of a single financial, business and operating model to drive scaling through consistent capabilities, ways of working and a high-performance culture focused on delivering high-value impact for clients. Typically, this was enterprise value creation in the form of revenue and profit growth through transformational strategies, acquisitions and disposals. Crucial to this was the alignment of the executive team with the CEO and the organization. The outcome for KPMG was a fivefold value unlock as revenues grew to $750m and an enhanced capability to build deep and trusted relationships with CEOs, executive teams and investors.

As a partner for 18 years, Nicholas held national and international leadership roles with P&L responsibility across markets and lines of business.

Post-KPMG he has worked on the transformation of strategic assets in Abu Dhabi and mentoring executives. He is an Honorary Professor at Royal Holloway Business School.
