Overview
Susan Hooper is a board member and former senior executive with an impressive track record across major Fortune 500 and FTSE-listed companies, private equity–backed businesses, and start-ups in the travel, energy, and technology sectors. She serves on the board of Moonpig Group plc (LSE: MOON) as Chair of Remco, Designated Workforce and ESG Lead, and serves as a board member of Uber UK (NYSE: UBER). Hooper has held senior leadership roles including Chief Executive of the Travel Division at Acromas Holdings (now SAGA plc and the AA plc) and Managing Director of British Gas Services at Centrica (LSE: CNA). Hooper brings deep experience in shaping strategy, improving performance, and steering organizations through succession processes, transformation, and growth, and is increasingly a specialist in sustainability.
Career History
Hooper is Co-Founder and Board Director of Chapter Zero, the founding chapter of what is now a global network of board directors managed through the World Economic Forum’s Climate Governance Initiative. She also holds advisory roles with Active Partners, Conquer AI, the World Travel & Tourism Council, Innovation Partnership, and ECHO Research.
Her previous board service includes board positions with Wizz Air Holdings (LSE: WIZZ), Whitbread (LSE: WTB), S.C. Johnson & Son, Affinity Water Ltd., The Rank Group (LSE: RNK), Royal & Sun Alliance (LLSE: RSAI), Courtaulds plc., and First Choice, among others. Across these roles, she has chaired numerous Remuneration, ESG, and Nom & Gov committees, supported CEO transitions, and contributed to regulatory, operational, and cultural transformation.
In her executive career, Hooper served as Managing Director of British Gas Services, a £1.8B division of Centrica with more than 16,000 employees, where she strengthened customer focus, regulatory engagement, and operational alignment. As Chief Executive of Acromas Travel, she led Saga Holidays, Cruises, Titan Travel, and the Automobile Associations (AA) travel businesses through a commercial and digital turnaround that restored growth. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership roles at Royal Caribbean International, Avis Europe, and PepsiCo International, with living and holding responsibility across multiple European markets.

Hooper holds a BA degree from the Johns Hopkins University and an MA degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and is fluent in German and Italian.
