Overview

Pierre Breber is the former Chief Financial Officer of Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX). Previously, he was an Executive Vice President, leading large multi-national businesses at Chevron. He currently serves on the boards of The Clorox Company (NYSE: CLX), Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV), and PACCAR Inc. (NASDAQ: PCAR).  He brings deep experience leading complex, global public companies.

Career History

During his tenure as CFO at Chevron from 2019 to 2024, Breber was responsible for the company’s global financial strategy, overseeing functions such as audit, tax, treasury, procurement, and investor relations. He played a pivotal role in articulating and executing Chevron’s “higher returns, lower carbon” strategy, balancing shareholder value with sustainability while executing over $75 billion in M&A.

Prior to his role as CFO, Breber held several key leadership positions at Chevron, including Executive Vice President of Downstream & Chemicals, Executive Vice President of Gas & Midstream, and Managing Director of Asia South Upstream in Thailand.

His diverse operational, commercial and financial roles during his 35-year career at Chevron provided him with a deep understanding of complex businesses in refining, chemicals, pipelines, shipping, and oil and gas production.

Personal

A native of Montreal, Breber holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from Cornell University. Previously, he served as Chair of the Board for United Way Bay Area and as a board member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

Breber currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife of almost 30 years. They have three young adult children. Breber plays tennis, squash, and golf, and has read over 25 US President biographies.
